Our Church History

In February 2006 at 7 pm, a meeting was held in the home of Rev. Derrick and Deborah Smith to share the vision God gave him. The meeting was called to order singing “Pass Me Not”. Scripture and prayer were given by Robert Richardson and the floor was given to Rev. Smith. Rev. Smith took the floor and shared the vision God gave him to organize a church. “New Generation Praise and Worship Center Ministries” was chosen as the name of the church. Rev. Smith taught from Psalms 127:1 “Except the Lord build the house”.

Our Mission

We are a thriving, Christ-centered church committed to reaching the lost and making disciples in Houston and around the world. We believe that God has given the church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every language, nation, tribe, and ethnic group who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our hope is to see lives changed by the transformative power of Jesus Christ!

Our Values

Connect to Jesus

We connect to Jesus through worship, reading His Word, studying with others and gaining knowledge of His power. We want everyone to know the love and grace that only Jesus can provide in a world that can sometimes feel chaotic.

Reach the world

We want to reach near and far with the love of Christ through serving and partnering with other ministries to grow the body of Christ. We serve locally, globally and within the walls of our building.

Make Disciples

We make disciples for Jesus by teaching the Bible, studying the Bible, leading by example, and baptizing followers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God hath given us a Great Commission: go and spread the Gospel, teach it, and help others live a life modeled after Jesus Christ.
